Go low and slow! It's time for some slow cooking this long weekend! Treat yourself with these luscious slow cooked dishes! There's a delicious slow cooker breakfast, wonderful Asian style beef cheeks, slow roasted lamb ribs and mint sauce, chicken stroganoff and sticky glazed short ribs!
I'm going to start you off with breakfast and ironically it's a breakfast I eat at dinner time but that's because it goes in the slow cooker. But of course you can set it overnight so that you have something delicious waiting for you when you get up. It's one of those recipes that is so ludicrously easy but doesn't taste like it IYKWIM!
These beef cheeks have plenty of Asian flavours like soy, star anise, ginger, orange and Shaoxing wine. It makes for the most glorious fall apart beef cheeks that are incidentally perfect for that other winter favourite-jaffles!
These delectable lamb ribs are HEAVENLY. They fall off the bone and are served wtih a gorgeous mint sauce that balances the rich meat so well. They're slow roasted in the oven so you can just leave them for 2 hours to do their thing!
If you're looking for a lighter version of veal stroganoff please give this incredible creamy chicken stroganoff a try! It can be done in the slow cooker or pressure cooker and served with noodles it's a definitely crowd pleaser!
The reason why I put this up is a) it is one of the most popular recipes on the blog and b) it's perfect for a long weekend as I like to make this over 2 days but there's no reason why you can't make it in one day too!
