I'd hazard a guess that if you lived in Sydney, a visit to Jonah's would be on your bucket list. The Whale Beach property in Sydney's glamorous Palm Beach about an hour away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney perches cliff top and affords lucky diners a panoramic view of the rippling ocean below.

I was lucky enough to visit the property a couple of years ago and it was every bit as sublime as imagined. We arrived by seaplane from Rose Bay for lunch cutting the commute to a spectacular twelve minute flight just when the sky was blue and clear and the sun was shining. After May is the Southern whale migration so some may spot the whales frolicking in the distance - for us, it was a pair of happy dolphins. It was one of what I think is one of the most  quintessential Priceless Sydney experiences making use of our harbour and our fantastically fresh food.

At Jonah's diners can choose from dishes such as Berkshire pork belly with a fricasee of foie gras , chanterelle mushroom, trotter, confit chestnut and boudin noir. Seafood lovers (guilty as charged!) might go for North Atlantic Scallops sautéed with flavours of onion, spiced with potato crisp and served with a caper and lemon dressing.

Jonah's chef Peter Ridland joined Jonah’s in 2009 and has cooked alongside Luke Mangan at Bistro Lulu, Marc Philpott at Gunners Barracks and at Starwood Hotels. Peter has also worked in Europe at two and three Michelin star restaurants.
