So while some of us spend the weekend at home in lockdown bidding our favourite cafes goodbye for the time being, that doesn't mean that you can't enjoy a delicious cafe style breakfast at home! These are all easy recipes from savoury pesto eggs to sweet sourdough crumpets or muffin loaves - try one or try them all!
I'm going to start with one of my surprise favourite recipes this year. TikTok pesto chilli eggs are such a simple concept and yet they are just as delicious as anything that you'll order at a cafe. Add avocado to it and you've got the best avocado toast ever!
These sourdough crumpets are made using sourdough discard so they're a wonderful no-waste recipe that also happens to taste fantastic too! They beat commercial crumpets because there's nothing quite like a freshly made crumpet!
OK so every day is like groundhog day while in lockdown but might I suggest trying to make the weekend a bit special? I mean toast is great but if you pretty it up and add some peanut butter, honey, sliced strawberries and basil chiffonade then your weekend will be so much more special!
This recipe is the perfect balance of tangy raspberries, sweet white chocolate and coconut. You can make this as a loaf or as muffins (your choice and it depends on how you want to serve it) and it just requires a bowl and whisk!
You'll never look at cornflakes the same way again! This French toast has a wonderful softness in the centre but crunch on the outside thanks to rolling slices in crushed cornflakes. You have to try this at least once!
